Federal Programs
Florida is participating in two Federal programs that aim to increase the availability and effectiveness of broadband: the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program and the Digital Equity Act Program. The goal of BEAD is to achieve universal, high-speed coverage by building infrastructure and increasing adoption. The Digital Equity Act program ensures all communities can participate and meaningfully use high-speed Internet.
The Digital Adoption and Use Program promotes access to high-speed Internet, digital skills, and devices. It will provide funding to promote digital inclusion and advance digital literacy and aim to ensure that all communities can access and use affordable, reliable, high-speed internet to meet their needs. Activities are focused on meeting the needs of specific populations, including: Low-income households, aging populations, incarcerated individuals, veterans, people with disabilities, people with language barriers, racial/ethnic minorities, and rural inhabitants.

While the University of South Florida serves as our host institution, providing administrative and budget support and oversight, Cyber Florida operates on behalf of the State of Florida at large, engaging a large and growing list of public and private partners to achieve our mission.
